Support the Bombay Panjrapole!

Animal Lovers - Bombay Panjrapole (an animal shelter, mainly cows) was set up 175 years ago as an infirmary to take care of cows and other animals.

Today it supplies milk in Mumbai to a number of customers and continues to run as a charitable trust.

Revenues are down and costs are escalating.

In the midst of this the workers have chosen to go on strike seeking financial support for their children's marriage and pardon to a handful who fought with one another and caused blade wounds. The latter face criminal proceedings, the outcome of which will decide whether or not they will be allowed to work at the Panjrapole.

The formation of a credit society is under way.

But in the mean while does marriage expenses constitute an `emergency' and should blade wielding workers be reinstated without enquiry? Should cows not be milked and be caused pain? Should milk be wasted and poured down the drain as packaging and distribution is stopped?

Please lend public support by visiting the institution near CP Tank Mumbai - the address is at http://bombaypanjrapole.org.in/contactus.html.

Also please support the opposition to the strike by signing the online form at http://bit.ly/panjrapole1 also suggesting ways in which you may be able to help this institution.

Many Thanks.
